George W. Nelson Jr. serves as Chief Financial Officer of The Holistic Mental Health Clinic in St. Petersburg, Florida. He oversees the clinic’s financial management, marketing, tax coordination, and administrative compliance, supporting the business foundation that allows THMHC to deliver personalized, integrative mental health care.
George’s background spans military aviation, education, business ownership, and executive leadership. He has been an owner of THMHC since May 2016. Working alongside Founder and Clinical Director Lynn Nelson, he helps align business decisions with the clinic’s mission and long-term goals.
Financial Leadership and Tax Coordination
George oversees budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, financial reporting, and performance analysis, along with tax coordination and expense management. He also oversees payroll and benefits. His work supports informed decisions and the financial stability needed to sustain quality care.
Marketing and Community Engagement
George guides THMHC’s marketing efforts, helping communicate the clinic’s services and connect individuals with information about available care. He supports referral partnerships and community outreach to strengthen the clinic’s relationships within the community.
Compliance and Business Accountability
George coordinates administrative compliance, business insurance, and renewals, helping the clinic organize required processes, records, and deadlines. His responsibilities include vendor selection and contract coordination. Working with clinic leadership, he supports strategic planning, evaluates new services, and guides improvements to administrative workflows and technology.
Professional Experience and Leadership
Before his work at THMHC, George served as President of National Aviation Academy from July 2003 through June 2016. He also owned and led Aviation Pros as President and CEO from 2016 to 2019, a business focused on aviation maintenance and training expertise. Earlier, he worked as an Instructional Designer at Syracuse University from April 2000 to April 2003. His career began with more than 21 years of service in the United States Air Force as a Crew Chief, from July 1978 through January 2000.
